At last, a concert
A small (about 30 people) audience of socially distanced, masked couples and singletons watched and listened to a concert by The Allegri Quartet at Stapleford Granary. The quartet's first concert since March - and the first music concert we have been to since January 18th. They performed a short concert - Beethoven's String Quartet Op 95, which is a very intense and angry affair for most of the piece, and a string quartet by Debussy which was also quite unusual in structure. The cellist was sitting right in front of us, and I would have loved to take a photo during the actual performance, as she was so intense and focussed.
We really enjoyed it, and we then risked a trip to a Chinese restaurant for a meal. W was somewhat apprehensive about this - concerned that there would be Covidiots in the restaurant, but in fact the staff were very Covid aware, the restaurant was almost empty, and the meal was one of the best Chinese meals I've had.
