Arbutus

This blip shows how strangely some of these trees grow. This particular example is on one of my neighbors property. In fact there are quite a few good examples of contorted Arbutus. The other trees that they struggled with for survival are long gone. The main element that Arbutus need to thrive is sunlight . My neighbors property faces West, where ours faces East; we are on a ridge.
