Lunch at the Castle

Off to Floors this morning - the largest inhabited house in Scotland, and home of the Duke of Roxburgh. Not that he had invited us round for a spot of lunch - we were meeting our old friends Catherine and Charlie in the cafe round the back.

It was a grey, cold day, and not much warmer inside. But we managed to hang out for several hours, while grumbling about all the things there are to grumble about .... the sort of conversation we used to call 'putting the world to rights'. We couldn't manage that degree of positivity today.

I snuck a quick look around the garden before we headed home and grabbed a shot. In spring, summer and autumn it's a riot of colour. Today, not so much - but a lot tidier than ours.
