Not the Prettiest
The circular feature in our side of the garden was ‘made’ by the owners before the owners before us when the septic tank was installed. We can’t move it, due to the effect it may have of the drainage efficiency. So, it has been used variously for tomatoes (very good), courgettes (excellent), and weeds (far too many). Mrs SoL wanted to move it but it can’t be, so I have at last covered the earth (after weeding) with suppressant membrane - some new, some recovered. Next job will be to plant herb bushes (rosemary, sage, thyme, marjoram, chives, plus others) into the old holes to get something going, without the weeds. The fig in the middle was planted as a memorial plant to Millie Dog who we lost a couple of years ago. Mrs SoL had saved a broken branch of a gift plant which she managed to root and seems to like it there. Millie’s ashes are providing sustenance to its roots. Thank you girl. Plan is, at some stage, to cover the membrane with stones to make it more presentable, while still allowing rain etc. to get at the ground. Now, what is the next job........
