Succulent

Spotted this strange thing on my way back from the allotment. I guess it's some sort of seed pod or nascent flower head of a large succulent. Maybe a type of Agave? Anyway it's a possibility for Flower Friday and I quite liked the late sun picking it out against the shrubbery. Thanks to the continually amusing BikerBear for hosting.
