5 years ago last week, Storm Desmond swept away Pooley Bridge's bridge!!!

It was a lovely stone bridge, maybe 200 years old...

The force of the flood water just swept the bridge away...

This brand new bridge was opened very recently, reuniting the village at last!

A herd of sheep went across first...before the cars were allowed to use it!
