Under Marionville Road
After months of talks and a make or break dinner of Brussels ( I do enjoy a good brassica) finally a deal was struck. Who says art imitates life?
The board have finally agreed to fund a Cigs Christmas Special for 2020. With falling revenue and a solid Tier 3 rating, the argument against was all fiscal. The pro camp were all about public profile, good will gestures and stakeholder engagement. After talking fish for far too long, the crunch talks finally saw common sense prevail.
So a morning of prop finding, models (Holly and Ivy are both booked), lighting, logistics and licenses; technitions have been engaged.
After all that, I tore myself away from the McMuffin and flat white and went to scout the location. I might even get double time for working on Christmas day. Woo hoo!
Although after the end of the year, it's still unclear what paperwork we'll need to export Cigs to Europe. Or how long we'll have to queue in Kent. I'd better get the remaining ones blipped before Michael Gove decides he wants to step in and help.
What a bunch of absolute bammers. Each and every one - odious and insidious.
