A tail of two cats
Slept for 7 hours......woke a couple of times briefly and was awake before the alarm went off at 7.30.
As planned our neighbour arrived with the joiner just after 8.30, a nice young guy just starting out, did a really good job, took two doors off, altered them in nextdoors garage, both close easily now. He was reluctant to accept any money, but I insisted :-)
Had some porridge with raspberries for breakfast, then spent an hour cleaning various things in the kitchen, bleached all my chopping boards, antibac'd the work tops, made a start on the floor, removing one or two stubborn marks before getting the steam mop out!
Youngest son arrived late morning, with his dad and my bestie. They brought back the wheelchair that we had leant to his grandad before he passed away. We bought it originally for my mum, thought it would be worth keeping in the garage, just in case we need it in the future! I had put the heater on in the summerhouse earlier, so we sat out there with the doors wide open for half an hour, hub being main topic of conversation obviously. Gave son his and DiLs xmas goodies to take home as they left. So horrible not being able to hug anyone, especially just now :-(
Todays blip is unrequited love, daughters black cat Bella indoors.......younger cat, who daughter and granddaugter have christened Jeremy outside looking in. Apparently he comes everyday to see Bella, nothing to do with the fact that he gets titbits of course ;-) Bella doesnt want anything to do with him, she hisses and spits, but he doesnt give up, if the doors are open he comes inside bold as brass, that is until Bella chases him off!!
I had chicken & vegetable soup, with a piece of toast for my lunch, very tasty, then hub face timed me. He had had a bit of restless night, needed oxygen turned up, but hes ok now, back down again. He managed a shower but said it was a real struggle.....I think he probably did things too quickly, got too hot and is forgetting hes just had 3 days of chemo, needs to adjust to a new pace....he's got physio to help his breathing on Monday, so unlikely he will be home, one step at a time I guess. I took him on a little tour, showed him the blue skies we got early afternoon, no windows in the ward where he is, then showed him the doors that had been fixed, he wanted to see how nextdoors new drive was coming along.....nothing worse than being couped up without any daylight. He did get taken out for a ride last night, one of the porters took him in a chair down to the conservatory and out into the garden just so he could get a few breathes of fresh air, which he really enjoyed!
This afternoon Ive put some more fairy lights around the trunk of our magnolia tree in the front garden, looks quite pretty.
Posted the nehgbours cheistmas cards theough their doors. Ive lit some scented candles in the lounge too, feels like I am adjusting to being home alone a bit more, as each day passes.
Just about to watch the Manchester Derby, cant imagine we will get anything from it, but you never know!
Lasagna and roasted cauliflower for dinner but not until later on.
Keep on being safe you guys
