To the village

The short drive to the village, Poppi in the distance. Yesterday 13 cases in a local authority care home there were announced. Very sad. We thought we might go Covid yellow today but the stress on health services has kept us in Serie B orange. A shame as we’d hoped to have the CALS round for a socially distanced bbq.

Got tuna from Angelo, a tap aerator and Look no nails glue from Tito and wine, butchers hooks, picture pins and two brass air vent covers (140mm) from the Agricola. At that point I felt I had exhausted the shopping possibilities of Strada. I was really after one of those outdoors flashing Christmas lights that could be seen across the valley. There’s someone on the other side flashes to us so it only feels right to flash back - so to speak - in the enormity of our lockdown nights.

I’d also just like to go to John Lewis, please. And some Stockbridge charity shops.

A Brit friend left today to attempt the drive to London in his FIAT Panda. Given that interregional journeys are prohibited that’s pushing it, unless you are returning home. ETA Monday.
