Cold Ducks
My Grandma always used to call me 'Ducks' as a term of endearment when I was little and when I hear the word I do always fondly think of her.
These two ducks were by the river in the car park hoping for some food which I didn't have unfortunately but am trusting that of the other 2 cars there who had sandwich eaters inside, they might have got a few scraps. They looked cold and miserable.
My walk too had been bitterly cold. The river levels had gone down so I mooched down along the bank covered in river detritus looking for a likely blip victim. Spotted a tree creeper bobbing up a trunk but too far away and too high by the time I got within striking distance. My tree creeper camera techniques need honing so that image won't see the light of day! Then zooming in on what I thought was another tree creeper turned out to be a nuthatch! No way can you do small birds justice standing shivering with a long hand held lens.
By the time I got back to the car my fingers were icy and I banged on the heater taking this shot out of the window. I am not a woose just a cold duck today!
