Vandals at the gates

I have been a regular visitor to the Hazlehead Park Cafe since it opened about ten years ago. It had been very pleasantly refurbished prior to opening and had nice cakes and sandwiches. Occasionally I have had breakfast there also. The only complaint I would have about the cafe is that it was too popular, so it was sometimes full. Cosmo came here with us several times also, when we would sit outside on the terrace.

It looks like it will be a while before I visit again since it was badly damaged in a fire Friday night. The police have said they are treating the fire as a deliberate act of arson. The police were still in attendance when I passed this morning.

The damage does not show particularly in this photograph, but it is reported to be extensive. Hopefully the staff can be redeployed to the other cafe at Duthie Park while restoration work is carried out. It would be a shame if anyone lost their job as a result of this, especially at the moment.
