Time to reflect
We all would do well to stop and think for a minute. This weekend, some 12,000 Trump supporter descended on DC.
Not only did they potentially bring additional virus exposure here (no masks and lots of yelling) but they also created unrest all weekend long (fights with injuries, etc). What will it take for them to look at reality and stop? I almost feel sorry for them: it must be so hard to be filled with such constant hatred...
Then there's the business of the covid vaccine. I'm so disappointed in how the news is covering this: the figures indicate that even if the 2nd company's vaccine is also approved shortly, the number of combined doses will not even cover half the frontline health workers (never mind anyone else). For instance, in New Hampshire (where my daughter is practicing), there will be a combined 50,000 doses of the vaccine (remember, to be immunized you need 2 doses) and there are 77,000 health care workers on the frontline...
Yet reporters are behaving like over-excited mutts touting the "end is in sight", which of course will probably lead people to relax the measures they are taking currently. I am ever more disappointed with the media in the US.
