A day in the life

Today is our "Lucia", traditionally celebrated on the 13th of December each year. I wrote a little about the background last year, read about it here if you like. Also notice how close the singers were standing. Not long ago. Little did we know that the Corona virus had already started spreading, the first cases was in Wuhan, China, in December 2019 according to Wikipedia.

Early this morning was the first time in weeks that the sun tried to break through the clouds. Where I was standing it was drizzling at the same time and that took over more and more during the day. The sun-outburst only lasted about ten minutes. My walk was rather damp and short today.

Summarising the day can look a bit like this: sorting, lunch, sorting, a walk, sorting, Reading, Tv series, Blip. No need to go into details about the sorting, it's been mentally hard work and takes time. I've just finished reading "Lucy" by Jamaica Kincaid, a most brilliantly written book, a nice, short one to read over Christmas. I deeply recommend it because of her amazing sense of language and style of writing.

It's also the third of Advent which even I celebrate by lighting three candles. Next Sunday is the day before the winter solstice and already on the Tuesday, we can add a whole minute of daylight. Compared to the summer solstice, (here in Kalmar) the day is 10.56 hours shorter right now. Candles are needed.
