Rocky Mountain Moments

Fresh Powder

I awoke this morning to beautiful sunshine and bright blue sky....and 11 degrees F (-11.6 C).  We got about 2 inches of dry powdery snow overnight and expect a few more inches tomorrow but at least the sun is shining now and we have warmed up to 33F (0.5C).

We have a few squirrels who regularly feed on spilled birdseed under the feeders.  Today they were dipping their heads under the snow to find the seeds and looking very cute when they came up with snowflakes on their faces.  I'm grateful that our squirrels are always willing to pose when I don't have any other blip prospects. :-)

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas now that we have snow on the ground.  After Monday it's supposed to warm up, though, and I might have bike riding weather by next weekend.  I love our ever-changing weather!
