Today I traveled to the western slope to see my niece for her birthday, added benefit I also get to see her new little baby brother. I live in a really beautiful state, last night we had just a little skiff of snow. Made the flatirons south west of Boulder look like they had powdered sugar on them. This shot is actually a bit further south then the view I normally see but it was in route to where I wanted to be and absolutely beautiful. Roads for the most part were wet with enough mag chloride that now you cannot see out of some of my windshield. I may have to wash the car before I head home, at least the windows. The west side of Vale pass was a bit icy and the canyon around Glenwood Springs was sketchy, at least sketchy enough to make me go the speed limit. All in all it was not awful getting here, I don't like to sit in the car that long but seeing my niece smile when I walked up was well worth it.
