One thing after another . . .

Morning message with photos of rec being dug up and will take 2 weeks, so over school holiday.  Upsetting. Also 29% covid increase in my postcode today. Beggars belief. 
Thought I'd get busy or I'd just have my chin scraping ground so cycled to supermarket. On way suddenly pedals hiccuping and slipping during rotation. Couldn't see anything noticeably wrong but that's why I take my bike to the repair shop but wheeled so that no further damage was caused. Cycled home with a mix of cruising and walking and wheeling.  Rang BicycleAmbulance, excellent repair shop to be informed that they are no longer part of the city centre car park as council gave them a 20% rent hike.  They are only a small business serving well the cycling community. The council intend building a hotel on the site with limited parking and the hike by a Labour council was to move them on.  Will we have need for another hotel if we're not completely covid-free.
