Oldest Bridge over the Avancon, Les Plans sur Bex
This is a typical, old style, Swiss footbridge in the lovely village of Les Plans. . In the summer it gets the sun and is adorned with the traditional red Gernaiums.
Click here and you will see the shingled roof edge. The shingles are made from trees grown on the northern slopes which are slow growing and very tough. A roof like this lasts about 50 years.
Maybe tomorrow I shall get above the fog as I shall visit an old friend near Arolla, I hope so, or SAD syndrome will set in!
