Blipvent Calendar 15 : A Christmas Story

A long time ago, in the late 1980’s, in a land far, far away, the West Midlands, lived a man and woman, Mr J’s mom and dad, who were redecorating. Mrs Jones wanted to keep some red velvet lampshades that were trimmed with gold fringe. Mr J and his dad said they were past their best. Mrs Jones came home to find the men in her life throwing her beloved lampshades out the window into a skip, laughing. There was no fairytale ending and it’s been a source of some discord over the decades. I couldn’t resist when I saw this Christmas decoration for sale, now she’s got one to keep for posterity. Fingers crossed she sees the funny side.
