Ruth, Luca and Frieda
We are back to our childcare bubble, after the recent period of self-isolation for Marianna, Jack and Frieda.
So today I looked after Frieda till early afternoon. We went to join Ruth and Luca at lunchtime. Later I picked Eben up from school and stayed to help with tea and bedtime. Josh was working away again today and won't be home till tomorrow.
It all went well, though by 6ish Ruth and I were getting very tired. This image captures a quiet moment in the afternoon, when Ruth was playing the ukulele and the two little ones were briefly entranced. Luca loves to spin round and round at the moment, testing out the sensations. He has also evolved a new game. For some time he's been using the word 'door' accurately. Now he points at a wall, and says 'door!' When we shake our heads and say a dramatic pantomime 'no...!' he dissolves in peals of laughter.
A good day, for us. Richard is still in Larne, helping to prepare for Jim's funeral on Thursday. In our video calls, I can see the strain in his face.
