Will it last?
Today we watched the last in one of the series of webinars which have helped us stay sane this year. As someone said today, it has been good to listen to smart people and sometimes to have our opinions changed.
The topic today was the last Guardian political poll of the year. The graphic shows how our Prime Minister has maintained high approval ratings throughout the Covid crisis. The same is broadly true of the State Premiers. It seems that we Australians generally think our governments have done a good job in managing Covid, or at least have given it their best shot. We have seen them acting cooperatively (on the whole), and listening to experts, and making decisions that are morally-based, not politically-based. It seems we like all this, as who wouldn't?
Let's hope that it continues and that some permanent lessons have been learned.
