Hitchcock Moment
I went out hunting a wide angle shot, albeit this is not what I was looking for. as we did our customary up and over walk around the village the birds were flocking in to the trees for the evening roost. The light was fading and I've done dreadful things to the sky, but it makes me think if Hitchcock's "The Birds".
Isn't it soul destroying watching Johnson struggle to square 'kill grandma with a hug this christmas' with the onslaught of medical advice telling us to remain isolated throughout the feasting period. Still allowing households to meet up, but telling them to be cautious! Like the previous 'eat out to spread it about', the contrary nature of advice is bewildering.
Sad to see our local brewery has shut down after thirty years of brewing excellent ale. With pubs being allowed to open (and needing barrels of beer) then being closed (and the beer having to be poured away), there's no clear way ahead for brewing. And let's face it, with fifteen days to go, we need all the alcohol we can get!
