Postage

Today's the day ……………………….. to receive mail

There are some items of mail that come through the door - where you know immediately who has sent them, without having to look inside.

It's always easy with this one because I suppose we only know one person who lives on the Isle of Man - my old friend and narrow-boating companion - BKeeper.  But even if he lived somewhere else, there would always be more clues pointing directly at him.

For example, most of his envelopes are occupied by stamps.  They will almost certainly add up to the correct amount for the postage required - but they will be many and varied.  And they will date back to events now obscured by the mists of time - Edinburgh Commonwealth Games 1986 - and can that really be 1977 on the St John's Ambulance Brigade at Governor's Bridge ones?

I think he rather enjoys the whole postage thing - as do I when I'm on the receiving end of one of his colourful envelopes.  Thanks BKeeper - and a Happy Christmas to you too …………………….!
