Shetland Monolith

A fine calm morning, but dull.  Winds picked up in the afternoon, brining rain.

I've been working in the museum all day, and it's been a fairly quiet day, but plenty to keep me busy.  The quiet day has continued into the evening, watching telly and a festive robin jigsaw.  Sammy is waiting patiently for the rain to ease, so he can get out walkies.  I did spy a Black Redstart on my walk this lunchtime, a rare visitor to Shetland.

These strange shiny monoliths have been popping up around the world, and end of last week, one popped up here in Shetland.  Sadly it didn't pop up in more of a scenic area, like St Ninian's, or Eshaness, instead it's next door to a local graphic designer office, Art Machine.  The mystery will continue, and wonder if we will see anymore.  It's had Christmas lights added since it's arrival.  Taken at Art Machine, Garthspool, Lerwick.
