Day 52 of 365 - Salford Hall side view!

Welcome to day 52 of 365.

The photo today is of the side view of the Salford Hall Hotel, taken from the garden area. The Hotel is a Grade I listed building that is situated between Evesham and Stratford on Avon. The oldest part of the building dates back to about 1470. It was originally built as a guest wing for the Monks of Evesham Abbey.

During the reign of King Henry VIII Salford Hall was taken away from the ownership of the Abbey, where it passed into the private hands of the Stanford family. It stayed in the families hands for a few hundred years until 1812, when the last of the Stanford family left the house. The house was inhabited by Nuns for a few years after that until about 1838. The house remained mainly uninhabited for the next 150 years except for caretakers and a few short term leases. Finally Salford Hall was restored and converted into the Luxury Hotel that remains today.

As always the photo was taken with my iPhone 5. The shot was taken using Pro HDR. I then used PhotoForge2 to edit the image. Finally I used the App Glaze to finish off the picture with a painted look.
