Daddy I want chopsticks too.
And he persevered until he found his own way of using them to get the noodles to his mouth.
Up early this morning (after a very very late night thanks to two fidgetty unsettling children and a big hunger pang just after they'd finally gone to and stayed asleep) to go swimming with friends.
Seems to be the way things go. We arrange to see friends last minute and have a really lovely time and say we must do this more often and the kids get on well and we get on well and it's six months before we get our act together and say whatcha doing tomorrow? Come on out with us! Happens all the time with so many friends. it's incredible how quickly 6 or 12 months can slip by.
So we went swimming with another family this morning. Hugely blessed by them too! Bean and his friend get on like they've never been apart, they just go off and do their thing! Both had float backpacks on, took them a while to do some actual swimming but they were having so much fun in the water. Bear took a little longer to overcome his usual fear of water but once he'd decided it was ok actually, he let us swim him around a bit. It was too cold for him though and his wetsuit was too big so he did really well to last as long as he did.
Bean actually made it to preschool this afternoon and had a blast, he came home with a giant choc chip cookie which he gallantly gave morsels of to the Bear.
Steve put my shelves up over my desk while Bean was out at school, so I've spent a few hours filling them up - where I've managed to keep it all til now is beyond me, there's not a great deal of space left on them already!
And we have had noodles for tea. Bean tried hard bless him.
Now the fella is asleep too, and I'm left in charge of the tidy-up before we have friends round for breakfast.
Please sleep well this evening, boys.
