Azizi

Friday, daddy day. The girls are having a one week vacation. They have been away for a sleep-over at my in-laws and they returned yesterday evening. A couple of days ago, I showed them a video of the birth of a giraf. Baby giraf Azizi (African for 'Precious') was born on February 10 in the zoo in Emmen and today the girls wanted to see the baby. At almost two metres, the baby is actually taller than I am.

We had a perfect day at the zoo. It was cold, but we were well prepared. The girls were happy all day. Highlights of the day also included seeing a Blue Morpho coming out of its cocoon and seeing a lemur baby. After the zoo, we visited my parents and had a great dinner there. This may very well have been the best daddy day ever!
