San Remo Towers

I've loved this building since I was a child. I thought of it as the gingerbread house from Hansel and Gretel: probably because of the barley sugar columns (see extra).  I went inside for the first time today, delivering Christmas gifts, and I've asked permission to have a proper look round once life returns to normal.

San Remo Towers was built in the 1930s in a Spanish style.  It's a grade II listed building with 164 flats in the block.  At one time it housed a library, a card room, a billiards room, kiosks and an a la carte restaurant.
