The great escape
I escaped today!!
There was a slight complication that the guy next door didn’t have a wheelchair; just a 3 wheeled walker (which we declined), but we decided to still go out anyway and see how I managed with my crutches.
The first place I wanted to go was a local charity to donate some toothbrushes and toothpaste (that I’ve had since October!) for underprivileged kids.
As we pulled up outside the unit, lo and behold, in amongst an array of mobility aids, they had a fold up wheelchair! Mr A snapped it up for me and we were all set to go a bit further afield for some retail therapy.
We’ve had our eyes on a new coffee machine, so drove over to Preston to collect the one that was in stock. Except when we got there, nobody knew where it was!
The next nearest store for collection was Lancaster; we aren’t that bothered and figured we may as well see what the January sales bring.
I still really wanted to go to Asda and we must have timed it right as it wasn’t busy at all. Who knew they have special trollies that attach to wheelchairs?! I suppose until you need one, you probably wouldn’t know.
It was great as well as it kept my bad leg tucked out of the way.
It felt soooooo good to get out of the house and get a change of scenery, almost normal in fact. Here’s to more days out! :-)
