Eye to Eye

I had an epic fail today. Each year the group of us that used to walk in MK do a xmas challenge and this years was to create a sock puppet from a black sock provided. The deadline is tomorrow, but I wanted to get the carpets done and the house back together before starting. I had all the items I needed including these eyes as I was doing a 'cute cat'. I was following a video on Youtube and started with the mouth, but the PVA glue just wasn't sticking, So I then tried UHU, then double sided tape, then I borrowed some fabric glue from a friend and none of them worked. So for the first time I'm not submitting an entry for the challenge as by now the sock was rather horribly marked with glue residue, but I look forward to seeing what the others have achieved (and what glue they used!).

Day 278 / Day 17 of the 3 Tiers v2 (for my record only)
UK deaths up 489 to 66,541 (revised basis), with 28,507 new cases, 18,469 patients in hospital and 1,340 on ventilation. New cases are now running at the level they were before Lockdown 2 and the R rate has shot up to 1.1-1.2 with a daily infection growth rate of 1% to 4%. The highest R rate is now in the East of England with 1.1-1.3. ONS figures up to 12/12 show a rise to 1 in 95 in England having the virus, that's 567,300. The PM tweeted today that it is 'vital' that they minimise contact with others from outside their household from today if they're forming a 'Christmas bubble'. He also said he is 'hoping to avoid' another national lockdown in England - think again Boris! Pressure is growing across English hospitals which are beginning to struggle to cope with Covid and normal pressures. A British company has unveiled a test that just uses saliva and gives a result in 15 mins by detecting the outside spike protein not the inside protein others use. John Lewis will make covid tests available for staff at 40 of its sites. The US Vice President got the vaccine live on tv today Total cases to date in India has now passed 10m. Austria will go into a third lockdown on Boxing Day for a month. Sweden has had a record of 9,654 new daily cases. Slovakia's PM tests positive after meeting the French President.
