'Ground' Asters
Asters are in the Daisy family in the genus Symphyotrichum, of which there are 90 species! These tiny Asters grow in the fields at the DogPark. They've been blooming like crazy and now they're seeding. I've been collecting their seeds and will attempt to introduce them into our yard in the Spring. My ID App identifies them as 'American Asters' but I call them 'Ground Asters' since they grow within just a couple of inches of the ground. These have faded to white but usually they show a light lavender/blue color.
