Orchard Park
Went to 'Orchard Park' this morning. It wasn't really the most exciting park in the world but at least I was able to have a good run about. And then I spotted 9 doggies all playing together. I watched them for a while but we think they were with a dog walker. And doggies who are with a dog walker always seem to want to stay within their pack and never seem to want to play with me. ….........So I just did my own thing.
This afternoon we walked over to Susi's house so that the humans could have a bottle glass of wine. Susi is Ann's 'support bubble' so that's allowed............ Last night Ann came to the realisation that she hadn't actually had a real live conversation with anyone since last Friday so she messaged Susi and said, 'Please can me & Trixie come and see you?' Normally when Ann goes to Susi's she doesn't take me with her because Susi has two timid cats and Ann says that it isn't fair if I invade the cats home. However, today Ann needed human contact and I needed an afternoon walk.
Ann & Susi always sit at Susi's big kitchen table (so chances of catching COVID are slim) and the cats always run away the minute that Ann comes into the house anyway. I wanted to go off exploring and Susi said that was OK. Unfortunately Ann said, 'Trixie, you are not going off exploring, you are going to stay in the kitchen with us. And then she shut the kitchen door. Mmmmmmm.............. haven't a clue where Freddie & Missy, the cats, were. But they certainly weren't in the kitchen.
Grrrrrrrrr...................... this second attempt at a lock down is really hard. It's NOT a proper lock down. Schools, colleges, universities are open. Non-essential shops are open. Nobody knows what the rules are??!! Unless you watch the daily briefings every day..................... who knows what is happening. There just doesn't seem to be any central website where one can go to, to get up-to-date proper info. There's info for Scotland, there's info for England, there's info for Wales. Who knows what's happening???
As most of you know; Ann lets out her house in St Ives, Cornwall, when we're in Edinburgh, and to be honest, she's had more bookings this December than any other. However, she's also had more cancellations than ever before, because the minute anyone who is booked goes into Tier 3 then they have to cancel. Life certainly isn't easy at the moment!!!
During 'proper' lockdown the only place Ann went was the supermarket once a week to do a shop for herself and Mrs R (her friends elderly mother). And the highlight of her week was standing on Mrs Rs doorstep whilst she delivered the shopping and having a chat. I didn't go in the car or on a bus for 3 months.
…........................And now Ann is really 'ranting'.......................... Totally understand we're in the middle of a major pandemic but Ann's mantra is............... 'Lock us up or let us go'!!!
