Cheese and Onion Pie

Christmas simply isn't Christmas without a homemade cheese and onion pie.  It is (or was) a Northern thing.

Mum used to make them for years for our get together with family friends the Bolton's on Christmas Eve, despite the teasing of the lack of culinary skill required, and for which I'll have forever fond memories.   Thepainterswife joined us one year when away from her New Zealand home.

I made them a bit early for Christmas Eve but in time for James and Ben coming home this weekend.
