A very interesting find
I was starting to panic about an emergency blip, you nearly got me in a Santa Claus hat, with bells!
However, we've been helping F.M.i.L, to sort out the 20 tonnes of 'stuff' in her room and came across this brooch. It was quite a mess but when I cleaned it up a bit it very clearly said "1936 Reichspartei Tag". The 8th Party Congress.
I looked it up and these were given to Party members attending the Nazi Nuremberg rallies. Reverse gives the makers name and location.
F.M.i.L. cannot remember how it came into her possession but we do know that at least one of my Father In Laws family were party members as they were spread through Holland but also in Germany. Many Germans were party members, Adolf Hitler was a very charismatic man and very convincing in his ideals for the country and it's people, many of whom didn't have much of a clue as to what was coming in 1939.
This is the 1936 section taken from Wikipedia;
1936: The 8th Party Congress was known as the "Rally of Honour" (Reichsparteitag der Ehre, September 8–14). The remilitarization of the demilitarized Rhineland in March 1936 constituted the restoration of German honour in the eyes of many Germans.
If you would like information on the other annual rallies, they all had different themes, they can be found here - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nuremberg_Rally
I'm hoping that with her Alzheimers something might pop into her head from long ago about where it came from, for now I'll just have to go with the German relatives theory above.
