Schools out
Our final day in school today until...well, who knows when. A good time with the John Muir girls with some orienteering, making some bird feeders (as pictured above) with pine cones, peanut butter and seeds and then some warm mulled ribena and yule logs, consumed while sheltering under a tarp. Mentoring was good apart from the probable broken finger my mentee had from punching a wall. I wouldn’t have minded apart from the fact that her goals that we wrote together for the last week said clearly: ‘don’t punch a wall’.
A good time at all our lunch clubs and then I hit the road to join sproutlover, holed up in his B&B in Devon. Hideous, hideous weather for driving but I did see a fox in a little village which cheered me right up. A bracing walk to the sea followed by fish and chips sheltering in a disused pub. I can see the sea from my window, apparently, but I’ll have to wait until the morning to find out.
