St. Francis of Assisi and Sebastian

One of my all time favorite prayers is by St. Francis of Assisi. You know, I chose him as my confirmational saint when I was in RCIA for many reasons but 2 really important ones led me to chose him.

1) I dig peace.
His prayer is perfect, like my inner soul confessed in a many poetic prayer.

2) He was a nut job, supposedly.
From what I remember them saying during Easter, he was actually more of a disturber of peace and always fighting for the under dog. I also really dig that.

But in all seriousness, he's the patron saint of animals and the environment, 2 things that I love.

While the hubs and I were in LA last summer, we stopped by the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels and picked up this charm for our pooch, Sebastian. I mean, we all need a little guidance and protection from day to day, right? Dogs included.
