Imperial Hotel, Erskineville

There’s a ‘Hello Lovers’ sign at the main entrance (not this one), and the pub itself is fabulously camp. It was one of the first openly gay pubs in Sydney back in the early 1980s. I have a vague memory of Wicked Women nights ... well, never mind. Oh, and the opening scenes of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert were filmed here.

There’s still drag shows, and the upstairs bar is very pleasant on a sunny Sunday afternoon.
