I'm not sure...

I think I have failed at managing Katie's expectations of events this year. She's had a Christmas party at ballet (she wished she'd not even gone), one at church (declared better only to save offending me, the organiser, I think) and today at school. She was offended at the rubbishness of the christmas dinner, it lacked all of its festive loveliness apart from free dress and the food was cold. She hated the "games" and it was all a flop.

But she looked very pretty. I liked that she chose to wear a sweet party dress, despite knowing everyone else was coming in jeans and hoodies.
