Last family birthday of 2020.
My wife’s birthday. Changed days from her “big one” last year. The Restrictions in place have been different with each family birthday this year! Today we’d a family lunch (younger son came with the food) in the garden etc - a bit ambitious for December in Scotland. Weather interrupted our plans a bit. And we’d birthday cake afterwards, candles snuffed out. It was a good, sensible, get together - with nice presents and good chat.
Rising coronavirus cases in England and Wales led to Statements by National leaders late afternoon. The First Minister has revisited Restrictions for Scotland on a preventative basis to prevent a runaway situation as elsewhere. Implications for Christmas, post Christmas Lockdown etc and into mid January. No doubt there’ll be naesayers and experts disagreeing. It’s led to us amending our already minimalist Christmas plans further. Ultimately, that’s fine.
