St Cuthbert
A roadside statue of St Cuthbert, near Hazelrigg, where St Cuthbert's Way joins the road for a short distance. We passed it on our way to Berwick this afternoon, to go shopping for a few essentials, one or two festive treats, and yet more wood for the hallway. A couple of extras of Berwick taken as we walked from the car park to the Green Shop - especially for Jane. I miss Berwick too!
Arrived home to discover that Boris Johnson has finally decided to go with the science and, just days after assuring the nation that the planned relaxation of the Covid rules would go ahead, has basically cancelled Christmas for most people. Given the new, apparently much more transmissible strain of the virus, almost certainly the right decision. But far too late. An announcement at 4.00pm on a Saturday afternoon, just 6 days before Christmas, gives people hardly any time to get used to the idea, let alone revise their plans ...
