This is Australia, right?
Last night, despite putting on woollies we were so chilly that we put the gas fire on. What! Five days before Christmas! We’re not really complaining - just surprised. Every year we desperately hope that we won’t have a hot Christmas. High 30s (Centigrade) are not uncommon for Christmas Day. Hence the Australian Christmas lunch is more likely to be seafood around a barbeque than roast turkey. (We still have a turkey on Christmas Day or Boxing Day, though.)
