Naish Hill
My journey back home on Monday via the back roads took me to Reybridge. There wasn't a lot going on but I was intrigued by these mud prints. The feet bottom right are fairly evidently moorhens' but there are also some paw prints on the top left. These could be dog prints but there isn't any access from the road or land nearby and the animal that made them appears to have come from the Avon, rather than into it, so I suspect and hope they belong to otters.
I stopped again halfway up Naish Hill to look at the ponies and donkeys in the paddocks there. The sun was setting and the sky was pink to the south, the sidelight catching the animals beautifully.

Yoko Ono and the Plastic Ono Band - Open Your Box (recorded February-March 1971)
On this day, February 18, Yoko Ono was born, amazingly, 80 years ago, in Tokyo in 1933. I well remember going to a most enjoyable and inspiring day-long 'happening' of hers, at Cannon Hill Arts Centre in Birmingham in the mid-sixties, some time before her fateful meeting with John Lennon at the Indica Gallery in London.
Open Your Box was on the B-side of a John Lennon single (Power To The People) but this was the side we played incessantly at Wolverhampton College Of Art - I remember a fine-art tutor called Don Bessant regularly playing it in his studio there or on the pub jukebox. The Plastic Ono Band on the record comprise John Lennon (guitar), Klaus Voorman (bass guitar) and Jim Gordon (drums).
