Money

Well, this was nice to wake up to! Not the jackpot I might have hoped for but, hey, every little helps! Didn’t take long to start working our way through it either - two coffees, a toasted sandwich and a cake in Cafe Nero took care of that!
Checked M&S opening hours for next week. Couldn’t believe the website which said it would be 6am to midnight, but it turns out that is absolutely correct. The theory is that as they will have to restrict numbers in the food hall at any one time, they need to open for longer so everyone has a chance to get what they want. A difference in opinion as to when might be the best time to shop though. One member of staff said to try early as there will be more choice. Another said go later as it’s always busy first thing and they will be restocking the shelves throughout the day. I have a horrible feeling we’ll probably end up having to visit at both ends of the day to get everything we want!
Last Panto rehearsal of the year this afternoon. Quite a few people missing and though it was nice to see those who could make it and have a bit of - socially distanced - fun, there was an overriding feeling that maybe it would all be in vain. Any further lockdowns will pretty much scupper any plans to perform before Easter. In front of an audience anyway. Might have to look at putting something online this year and then doing it “live” in January 2022 - always assuming everyone is still available then. Oh well, it’s out of our hands now. All we can hope is that this new, super infectious strain of Covid doesn’t make it up here any time soon.
