Looking West

There ought to be a car park on top of the M6 Thelwall viaduct. The views are spectacular each way.

Looking east, Manchester City centre’s towers 14 miles away stand out against the Pennine hills which sit behind the metropolis.

Looking west, Fiddlers Ferry power station (decommissioned in March), and beyond it the Runcorn bridges across the Mersey.

A zoom call with friends this evening. Who would have predicted at the beginning of 2020 that an opener for a conversation this year would be “which tier are you in” ?

Or that the phrase “next slide please” would carry quite so much meaning.

The UK seems to have entered a new phase of the pandemic, and is in the uncomfortable position of distancing itself and being distanced from its neighbours. Not good.
