Watching

What a beautiful day! Just as we were getting into the car after a pleasant walk by the crashing ocean, we heard a piercing kee-aye and there was the hawk at the top of a nearby tree. I've never heard that sound from a standing bird, only from ones in flight, but it was unmistakable.

Identified by a blipper:  Red-tailed Hawk (Buteo jamaicensis)
