Black Swan, the bird not the movie..

I was out this morning with my granddaughter Eilidh, and we paid a visit to Fife's Animal Park between Auchtermuchty (what a great name!) and Cupar. It was very cold, but it was worth walking around to see interesting animals.

I was surprised, however, to see this Black Swan (Cygnus Atratus). Although a native of Australia, I am told there are significant numbers of escapees and others now inhabiting parts of the UK. There are even some on a few of Scotland's islands I am told.

I thought this was a lovely bird, so took a few shots, and was pleased enough of this one to select it as today's blip..
