View From Our Studio
An extremely busy few days completing our historical research and putting documents, photographs and drawings into a logical order format.
Today’s Blipfoto is of the view from our studio. The original windows have never been washed in 140 years, but the glass remains relatively clean.
Similarly the cast iron window frames have never been painted. Each pane of glass is only 1 or 2mm thick.
Between the studio and the original glass is double glazing units which give good thermal insulation.
And the view beyond the trees is of Polytunnels. Over the years more and more appear.
And the purpose of the thumbnail? The cap to one of the gate columns remains on the ground awaiting the time when the stone masons can work closely in a team to remount it or replace it with a new cap.
A very minor problem arising from "the virus". People’s lives are far more important.
