Shortest day of an extremely long year

So it’s the shortest day of the year, it can only get better from now on.
Darren decided to take us out when it was virtually dark, though thankfully it had stopped raining.
I met one of my friends, an older bigger dog but very friendly and placid, it’s always nice to see him.
