Winter sunshine

Time to get some decorations up! This one was given to Richard by some friends in Iceland, who know all about valuing sunshine in dark midwinter times. Roll on longer days. And the Covid vaccine.
Jack, Marianna and Frieda made it to Luton airport in time for their flight to Athens.  But they weren't able to board it. They had been tested for Covid on Saturday, within the precise timeframe required for travel to Greece. Marianna got her negative result ahead of the flight. But no results arrived for Jack and Frieda.  So although they complied with all requirements... the private company that was paid a hefty fee for their tests did not meet its obligations. Such a familiar pattern, during this pandemic.
They'll be with us for Christmas dinner, which is wonderful for us. But we are all more sad than we can say that the hoped-for time with Marianna's parents will not happen.
