Poorly Sadie

Friday night was traumatic for Sadie .. without any warning at all a small part of her neck exploded .. I mean it actually exploded out leaving a hole of raw skin .. to cut to the chase after seeing the emergency vet it transpired it was a grass seed head that had been embedded for a long time and then caused infection which then burst out .. the hole was / is so big that you can’t sew the edges up ..my poor dog must have been in pain and we never knew . Seed pods almost killed one of my pen pals dogs .. they think the seed head went into the ear cavity , festered a long time which caused swelling that then pressed on Archie dogs brain .. horrific !! I’m fairly vigilant in the spring and summer months by brushing the dogs after we’ve been in the fields . We also keep all the dogs clipped short as it helps .. I need to up my game in the future .. anyway Sadie is on antibiotics and pain relief and is MUCH improved I’m pleased to say ... ( edited to add the hole is the other side .. I would not subject you to the sight of it x )

On a lighter note I’ve made cakes today and made tiny snowflake sugar toppers for the cakes .. I made about 50 and ate around 33 of them .. for benchmark purposes...... I ate the snow flakes not 33 cakes .. I only ate 7 cakes and then needed to make extra ...... sigh.
