Picnic Table Snack

This squirrel took time out for a snack even though it was raining. 

Once the rain cleared up, I went outside to plant my October & November bulb basket bulbs in the front garden. Of course Baron was right there getting her paws into everything 

Baron & I then cuddled for a while before I decided I was just too cold and needed to go back inside.

The BT underwater cable that carries the internet to Westray has been damaged. At this stage it’s not known what caused the damage, although cable breaks are not uncommon on subsea routes. Most cable breaks occur due to accidents by deep sea fishing trawlers, as well as ships dragging their anchor over them.  They have set up a few places with satellite connections where residents can go to check their email etc.  


My parents are using the satellite services at the Old Kirk but since the building has been closed since March due to Covid, it's cold & damp and so visits of more than about 20 minutes are not what you want to do.


Hoping the cable repairs are completed soon so we can go back to our daily chats and it would be awesome if we could FaceTime Christmas Day.
